On the Tenth Day of Christmas…

So this is my tenth post of my Twelve Days of Christmas series and I’m going to be honest I haven’t got anything really significant to write about, apologies. I’m feeling Christmassy and the Christmas tree is looking lovely, it’s lit up and decked out with decorations, but nothing in my day has made me want to write a Christmassy post.

Christmas Time

Today I went back to my part time job which is just a holiday job in-between uni terms and I had forgotten how much I dislike working. Now, I don’t mind the people I work with, they’re actually really nice. But, it’s just so boring and causes so much stress for so little pay…but hey ho that’s life!

The worst news I found out today and something that has put a downer on my whole day was this…now brace yourselves because it’s heartbreaking news, indeed it is.

So here we go…I found out that I have to work Boxing Day! YEAH! That’s right, Boxing Day, it sucketh! I know people have much worse jobs and have to work Christmas day and all that jazz, but working in a part time job in retail, I just think what’s the point? Why can’t people go shopping on the 27th instead?

It’s Christmas time, so I shouldn’t moan but I would like my company to realise they have ruined, yes ruined my Christmas. Cheers!

And that has been your daily fix of Christmas.

Five Gold Rings

Number Five, that’s like golden rings or something isn’t it? Well I’m going to be straight with you, I’m not giving you any golden rings this year anyway, apologies.

So today is my official last day of uni for the term and I’m heading home for the Christmas holiday tomorrow. Woo! With my last seminar done I feel a little lost as to what to do, only to remember the pile of work I’m meant to be tackling this holiday. This realisation slightly ruins the feeling of being free to relax over the holiday. But nothing can dampen my spirits because it’s nearly Christmas and I’m in that Christmas mood, oh yes!

As everyone was starting to leave or preparing to leave I started to get really excited about the whole ‘coming home for Christmas’ thing and couldn’t get that Christmas song, ironically named,…’Coming home for Christmas’ out of my head. The experiences I’ve had in my first term of uni have been great and have shaped me as a human being. I will head home tomorrow hopefully a more cultured person, and if that fails almost certainly slightly unhealthier and lazier.

Going home for the special celebration will not only be nice because I get to see everyone again, but I get to spend time with the people I’m closest to in my life, something Christmas really promotes. Being away at uni means I can’t wait to get back and see my own house’s decorations. The transformation of my house into a festive den is an incredibly exciting thought!

Christmas is a time for being close to the people we love and that has really hit home to me because I’ve been away for a fair amount of time. I can’t wait to get home to my own little space and be with the people I always celebrate Christmas with. Life is a joy, we really should make the most of it!

Well, with that I can safely say that you have just had your daily fix of Christmas.
