On the Eight Day of Christmas…

English: A bauble on a Christmas tree.

Tree Decorations

It has been eight days since I started my Twelve days of Christmas series and it’s worrying how quickly my life is flying by. Today the post is about Christmas trees, because they’re just lovely, aren’t they?

Now we all love a festive Christmas tree but the big question is, do we have a real one or a fake one? Fake Christmas trees are certainly practical and create a lot less mess but nothing beats a good old proper, living Christmas tree. The smell of the pine and  treacherous falling needles just have to be part of everyone’s Christmas scene, surely.

Each year my family get’s a real Christmas tree, and yes, it dutifully makes a good mess, but it’s lovely and feels much more festive than a perfectly shaped plastic one. The tree’s imperfections are something that makes it even more loveable. A wonky, little tree covered head to toe in decorations is what practically signifies Christmas in my households, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Well, actually on second thoughts, maybe a perfect, tall, dark fake tree would do it…

oh christmas tree, oh christmas treeAnd that people has been your daily fix of Christmas.
